Veg Momo is a small ball with a nice shape, stuffed with juicy vegetables. Momo is a snack which is loved by almost everyone only because of its juicy stuffing and the spicy chutney. We found various types of momo and today I am sharing the veg momo recipe with you. So lets start the recipe….
All purpose flour (maida) – 3 cups
Oil – 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste or 1/4 tsp
Cabbage – 1/4 of a small cabbage
Carrot – 1/2 of a whole
Onion – 1 medium size
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Garlic cloves – 4 no
Black paper powder – 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Oil – 1 tsp
While we are started preparing the veg momo first we make the dough. For making the dough take a big bowl, add all purpose flour, salt, oil and mix well. Now make the dough by gradually adding water and rest for 15 minutes.
After that we are going to make the stuffing for the momo. For make the stuffing first roughly chop the cabbage, carrot, onion and peel the ginger and garlic cloves. Now take a blender jar and roughly grind all the ingredients. Don’t make paste of it, just grind it like finely chopped as it shown in the picture. It takes just 30 seconds to 1 minutes. So you must check this in between you grind it.
After that transfer all the ingredients into a bowl. After grind all the vegetables it contains a lot of moisture. So we have to squeeze the mixture very nicely. After that add salt and black paper powder to the squeezed mixture and mix them very well.
Now we are going to make the final step of momo. Here we make small balls from the dough for preparing the momos. So, now roll out a ball (don’t roll out very thin, make it like we make for roti), fill some mixture and give a nice shape according to your choice.
After making all the momos we are going to steam them using a steamer for 10-15 minutes. after 15 minutes check the momos, if they looks transparent then momos are cooked. After that carefully remove them from the steamer. Finally our veg momo is ready to serve. Serve them with spicy tomato chutney.
