Bitter gourd leaves pakoda is going to be a tasty snack. There are a lot of health benefits of bitter gourd leaves. To add this in our diet is really good for our health. It gives a bitter taste, but while we make this pakoda it does not give any bitter taste. So this pakoda must be tried once at every ones kitchen. You can have this pakoda with red chilli sauce, tomato sauce or any chutney as per your choice. So friends let’s start the recipe.
Ingredients
Bitter gourd leaves (Karela) – 10 no
Besan (Chickpea Flour)– 4 tbsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Curry powder – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Oil for deep frying the pakoda
Method
For making this bitter gourd leaves pakoda the main ingredient is bitter gourd leaves. First take the bitter gourd leaves, nicely wash them and keep aside. Now take a bowl for making the batter, add besan, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt as per taste, curry powder and cumin seeds. Mix all the ingredients very well. After that gradually add water and make a thick batter out of it. Here our batter is ready. So let’s heat a pan and add oil for deep frying the pakodas. After oil becomes heat put the gas on medium flame.
Now take one bitter gourd leaf, deep into the batter.(hold the bitter gourd leaf as it shown in the picture below, using this process we can easily dip the leaf in batter).
After that remove the excess batter from the leaf and deep fry in the oil. Fry the pakoda from both sides till it becomes light golden brown in colour in medium flame. Don’t over cook, fry them like we fry pakoda. So let’s remove them from oil and keep in a plate. After that fry all the pakoda like the first one. Finally our bitter gourd pakoda is ready to serve. So friends serve the pakoda with any type of sauce or chutney you like. I like to have these pakodas with the combination of tomato sauce and chilli sauce. So friends you eat your pakoda with sauce or as per your choice.
